FINELINE TATTOO WILL NOW BE THE ONLY PLACE I GO TO FOR MY TATTOOS.

I REALLY WANTED A KOI FISH TATTOO FOR THE LONGEST TIME. I HAD ONE OF THEIR ARTISTS, JOE, DRAW ONE UP FOR ME. IT WAS AMAZING. I ARRIVED AT MY APPOINTMENT AND WAS READY TO GO. EVERYONE IN THE SHOP WAS SUPER FRIENDLY AND I FELT COMFORTABLE THERE, UNLIKE SOME OTHER PLACES I HAVE GONE. THE SHOP ITS SELF IS SMALL BUT I LIKE THE PERSONAL APPEAL IT HAS. I WOULDN'T SAY I HAVE A HIGH TOLERACE FOR PAIN BUT I DID WANT TO DO MY ENTIRE TATTOO IN ONE SITTING. JOE WAS REALLY HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING. HE LET ME TAKE BREAKS AND SWITCH POSITIONS WHENEVER I NEEDED TO. THE TATTOO TOOK ABOUT 4 HOURS TO COMPLETE. I LOVE IT WAY MORE THAN THE ONE I HAD IT COVER UP. YOU CAN'T EVEN TELL I HAD A TATTOO THERE BEFORE.

I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOP AND TATTOO ARTIST TO A FRIEND, I'M BRINGING MY SISTER THERE (HOPEFULLY, IF SHE DOESN'T CHICKEN OUT) TO GET HER FIRST TATTOO.

IF YOU WANT AN AMAZING TATTOO BY SOME AMAZING ARTISTS, GO TO FINELINE!!!!!

A GREAT TATTOO SHOP WITH A FRIENDLY TATTOO ARTIST THAT TRULY CARES ABOUT HIS CRAFT. VERY CLEAN AND NO NONSENSE ARTISTS THAT DON'T MIND QUESTIONS FROM NEWBIES. I GOT ALL MY MAJOR WORK FROM JOE MANUTTI, AND HE HELPED DEVELOP MY PIECE, WHICH IS TAKING UP MY WHOLE BACK. I HAVE A LOT OF COVER UP WORK ON MY BACK AND ITS COMING A LONG AMAZINGLY.

HE TOOK HIS TIME AND YOU CAN SEE THE PASSION IN THE TATTOO, IT TURNING OUT BEAUTIFUL. HE TALKED TO ME, AND I WAS BLOWN AWAY BY THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN THE SHADING AND IN THE LINES. THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JUST A REGULAR TATTOO ARTIST AND SOMEONE WHO IS DEDICATED TO THEIR CRAFT.

I was 18 when Mike did my tattoo in 1984. I found his ad in the back of the Village Voice and was the first person amongst my friends, to get a tattoo, when it was illegal in NYC. I remember nervously going to his address in the Bowery. I walked in and it was super clean, like a medical office. Fast forward to this afternoon, 2010. It was such a surprise to walk by his shop in the East Village and to think that getting tattoed used to be illegal. Thanks Mike!
